Jessica Jacobs 7th at Ironman Coeur d' Alene!

SLS3 pro Jessica Jacobs placed 7th at Ironman Coeur d' Alene on June 21st, clocking an impressive 9:54:58. Along the way, she managed to record the fastest women's marathon split of the day - 3:12:00, which also broke Heather Gollnick's previous course record of 3:15:12 for the marathon set in 2006. American Tyler Stewart was the women's champion in 9:23:21. Kate Major of Australia was 2nd in 9:32:10, with defending champ Heather Wurtele of Canada 3rd in 9:34:24. Less than four minutes separated 4th through 7th places in a deep women's field. Jessica's complete splits on the day for the 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike, and 26.2 mile marathon were: S: 1:13:11, T1: 2:26, B: 5:22:41 (20.8 mph), T2: 4:41, R: 3:12:00 (7:20 min./mi.). Jess, who has already qualified for the Ironman World Championship in Kona, now heads for the Quelle Roth Challenge in Germany, another Iron-distance race to be held on July 12. Good luck, Jess!
